Was pretty surprised to be able to just walk in for dinner here. 🙂

would get the Zabb Wings, Steamed fish, Pandan Jackfruit dessert, Prawn Karee again.

Would recommended AGAISNT (DO NOT GET) the crab woonsen or the coconut crab curry – its so expensive and not worth it.

Zabb Wings (4.5/5)

Moist / Big pieces (kind of) / Seasoning was like this powdery lk sour seasoning but it was nice / A lil sweet a lil savory a lil sour / its nice but I AM NOT a fan of the powdered seasoning but it was nice overall

Coconut crab curry (3/5) I DO NOT LIKE SPICY FOOD

The spicy doesnt hit in the mouth but in the gullet. There is a good amount of crab but everytime I reached to get some of that meat my stomach was begging me to not put any more in me. why did I order it when it was rated the spiciest thing? I DIDNT my family ordered it and they thought it was alright.

Prawn Karee (5/5)

Man oh Man its nice. It does have the shell but it was so good that I let that slide. amazing

Crab Aob Woonsen (2.8/5)

who in their right mind let someone put this on the menu? it only doesn’t get a 2 because they put that crab on top but its like random stuff in a bowl. In fact I am lowering the score again after thinking about it. Who likes this please DM me or something and tell me what is the appeal? its just glass noddles p much and chunks of crab. INFACT id prefer jasmine rice over this because at least than i can use it to clean up my bowl of prawn karee sauce.

Jackfruit Pandan Ice Cream Dessert (4.5/5)

they don’t tell you but there is some nice warm rice at the bottom that just SMACKS with each bite. The rice was lk hard so it isn’t a 5/5 but it was nice overall man GET THIS FOR SURE.

Steamed Fish with Thai Herbs (5/5)

The average price of each dish was 28 dollars. Nothing here was like GOOD VALUE. but like that don’t mean the food wasn’t BUSSING. Not a single thing here though was light on the wallet. (My mother paid for this meal 🙂 thanks mama)

Experience (3.5/5)

Its like cute and the presentation is fun and different but like it’s not like anything crazy special we did eat outside I guess. There is only one restroom too and like that’s not their fault but its still going to lower the experience score for me. The restroom isn’t nice either on top of that.

Why I chose to come here and like the rest of the review

I was sick and wanted to just sleep but mom is visiting from California so I decided to try to see if I could just walk into Fish Cheeks and I was able to. Waited 45 mins for my sister and mother to make it down to NOHO from Midtown even though they said they were on the way an hour prior but oh well.

We sat outside it was mad humid but it was like 8 pm so not that bad. I had a headlight lamp on the whole dinner and it was pretty helpful for taking photos of the people at my table or for the food photos.

Service was pretty good and honestly sitting outside is pretty nice. The table was a bit wobbly but it was ok. The TABLE is small so like if you’re eating with like a couple big eaters (me)it will get stuffy. They did not bring everything out all at once like we asked so we were able to finish a dish and get rid of it to make room for the next stuff so that is cool.

Definitely would not come here if I was caring about the price at all. It is mad expensive but it is pretty good.
